Bethany & Benjamin’s Hawkes Bay Wedding

   Black Barn Vineyards, Hawkes Bay
   July 6th, 2018

I have only been to the Hawkes Bay a handful of times, but my gosh has it left an impression on me. I knew when I first hiked up Te Mata Peak that I would have to come back there some day and photograph a lovely couple at sunset. And that is just what Bethany and Benjamin asked me to do earlier this year, and I’m so grateful to you both, and your lovely families, for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful day. Ever since our first meeting, I knew these kind-hearted people were big on family, friends, and spending as much time as possible with them on their carefully thought out wedding day. So it did take me a bit of convincing that we needed to take a quick trip up the peak to get some shots in. Super quick it was, and super beautiful. And if you are lucky to get it on a day like we did (without 50 tourist buses) the magnitude and beauty of the bay area can be pretty overwhelming. Speaking of overwhelming, I don’t think I have ever seen a groom be so taken by the sight of his beloved walking down the isle, he even brought me to tears! The kindness and love continued throughout the whole day, it was just very, very special to witness. So thank you, all of you, I left with a couple of bottles of homemade olive oil gifted from Beth’s family, a big smile on my face, and my cup feeling very full.
